Their consultation began with a laser measurement session—accurate to the millimeter—which immediately told me they take margin tolerances seriously. I was considering motorized cellular shades in a south-facing great room that bakes in afternoon sun. The consultant arrived with full-size operating samples, not flimsy swatches, so I could test lift speeds, noise levels, and fabric opacity under the actual glare that floods the space. One challenge was a three-panel bay whose center window swings inward for maintenance. Many installers resort to shallow inside mounts that eventually rub against the frame. Instead, Cascade suggested a hybrid installation: recessed side mounts on the flanking panes and a discreet top-mount fascia on the center panel. It preserved the uniform sight line while allowing the middle sash to pivot freely—an elegant, code-compliant solution I hadn’t seen executed this cleanly before. Material quality also impressed me. They source Greenguard-certified textiles, and the aluminum headrail is extruded, not roll-formed, which means no warping over our 120-degree Arizona summers. Their motor choice, a Somfy RTS unit, integrates with Lutron, so my existing smart-home scenes required only minor reprogramming. Installation day was equally smooth. The crew wore soft-toe booties, vacuumed drill debris as they worked, and calibrated each shade’s upper and lower limits via remote, then walked me through a full demo. They even uploaded firmware updates on site—most companies leave that to the homeowner. Pricewise, they were mid-range, but the engineering finesse and after-sale support (five-year parts-and-labor warranty plus a yearly tune-up) justify every dollar. If you need precision work and crave a finish that looks built-in rather than tacked on, put Cascade at the top of your bid list.

The window treatments that we got from Sun Devil Shutters are perfect, and the service was excellent. The company has a great selection of options, and our sales representative, Mario, was VERY helpful in recommending some good choices for our windows. The company handles the installation, and our installer was fast and efficient. Doing your own installation isnt an option, however, so you do have to include that expense as part of the project. There are likely companies that will provide window treatments for less, but based on the quality of their products and service, Im glad we went with Sun Devil Shutters.
